A defendant may consent to the exercise of jurisdiction over him by implication through the entry of a “general appearance,” or expressly through an agreement in advance with the plaintiff. Enforcement by the Arizona courts of forum selection clauses in contracts does not offend due process when they have been fully negotiated and are not unreasonable. When such a forum selection clause is found to be enforceable, the necessity for an Arizona court to conduct a “due process analysis” of the type and extent of the defendant’s contacts with the forum is eliminated.
